Despite the fact that many reports and surveys claim that the Galaxy Note 7 recalls did very little damage to Samsung 's brand globally, there are several consumers who have decided to sue the company for different reasons.
Samsung fans remain loyal to the company and would buy a Galaxy N0te immediately if the company decided to launch a new one tomorrow, about 2,400 customers in South Korea, however, have a different opinion and have filed a class-action lawsuit against Samsung, reports ZDNet.
Each of these customers who previously owned a Galaxy Note 7 is demanding 500,000 won from Samsung, i.e., $428 as compensation. Obviously they are upset that they must visit stores at least four times to replace the Galaxy Note 7.
However, Samsung is not willing to offer any compensation to these dissatisfied customers, except for what has already been offered during the exchange process.
The South Korean company told the court in Seoul that it has already offered the maximum compensation possible to customers who bought the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.
Samsung also stated that it incurred about $8.6 billion in losses to fully recall the Galaxy N0te 7 phablet.
According to the manufacturing company, if the court accepts the lawsuit against the company and decides that compensation should be awarded they will create a negative precedent unprecedented «that will make future voluntary and preventive recalls impossible in the future».
Number 1 smartphone manufacturer has already offered compensation to owners of Galaxy N0te 7 in South Korea, some of which have not been provided in other countries.
All those who bought and then exchanged their Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea should receive a 50% discount on either the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8 that will be released next year.
