After the shutdown of several leading Torrent websites such as the Torrentz search engine, Kickass Torrents and TorrentHound, it's ExtraTorrent's turn. Recent publications report that the website has lost control of several domains and rumors are spreading that the tracker is going to be shut down.
ExtraTorrent is one of the leading torrent distribution websites with very high traffic from the US and other parts of the world. Immediately after the closure of large reliable Torrent websites, users looked for alternatives and one of them was ExtraTorrent. Thus, the website reached a very high Alexa ranking (237) reaching approximately 170 million visitors per month.

After the recent “takedown” of Kickass Torrents and TorrentHound, the decision to take ExtraTorrent offline is not surprising, given that it is likely the next target of copyright holders.
Thus, three of the domain names used by the website (ETproxy.top, ExtraTorrent.rocks and ExtraTorrent.date), which functioned as mirrors of ExtraTorrent, are not working, as reported by TorrentFreak.
The domain registrar, Subreg.cz, stated that the domains have not been blocked, but admitted that there are ongoing protests, which may have led to the popular tracker being shut down.
ExtraTorrent currently has new mirror domains ready to replace the old addresses. Backups of the page can be found at ExtraTorrent.site and Extra.to.
It is worth noting that one of the main domains, ExtraTorrent.cc, is fully accessible at this time.
We thank our friend Stelios for the timely information.
