iOS 10.2 makes it harder to hack iPhone backups

Apple ) and in addition to new emoticons, it seems that the company made a change that is crucial for the security of data included in backups.

Security experts at the site iMazing explain that the beta version of iOS 10.2 makes encrypted backups 1,000 times more secure, just as the OS Update increases the processing power required to crack a passcode.

Apple tried to strengthen the security of encrypted backups with iOS 10 in the first version, but due to a security flaw, the company achieved the exact opposite, making backups easy to hack. Cupertino fixed the problem quite quickly and with the introduction of iOS 10.1 found a solution to this issue, blocking brute force attacks and making passwords almost impossible to hack.

But all of this seems to have improved with the latest beta version that will be available to everyone when iOS 10.2 is released to all users, as it is currently being tested by developers and users who sign up for the beta.

"Now in the first iOS 10.2 beta, things have changed again, Apple has a little surprise for potential attackers: not only have they made all backups encrypted, but now a user's password validation is more demanding.".

Apple has been beefing up the security of its products since the FBI tried to force the company to hack into an iPhone belonging to one of the San Bernardino terrorists. Apple refused, but the FBI managed to hack the device with the help of hackers whose names have not been revealed.

Apple is reportedly trying to build a hackerproof iPhone and part of its plan is also said to be securing encrypted iTunes backups. The company hasn't confirmed this, but we'll probably have more information when iOS 10.2 is released. Until then, we'll just have to wait and see!
