It seems that Baltimore police in the US have decided to warn Pokemon Go users in a more dramatic and harsh way about using the game while driving.
Police released a video today captured by a body-worn camera worn by a foot patrol officer. The scenes below took place in the early hours of Monday, before dawn, at around 3:30 a.m. A group of officers who had just completed an autopsy on a call to duty were still on the sidewalk in the 2900 block of Eastern Avenue when a Toyota RAV4 hit one of their patrol cars.
The driver who was playing Pokemon Go while driving after the crash drove a short distance and stopped. After getting out of the car in a state of shock, he said, “This is what happened to me playing this stupid @#$… game.” His words and reaction were captured on camera by a police officer who rushed to help.
“It’s a game, but it’s not a game when you’re behind the wheel,” Baltimore police spokesman TJ Smith said at a news conference Tuesday. “What you saw could have easily, very easily turned into a tragedy.”.
Baltimore police released the entire scene of the confrontation, as you can see in the video below, stating that the video is not intended for the enjoyment of those who enjoy violence. They are sharing this footage solely for news reporting and education purposes.
