Samsung has stopped sales of the Galaxy Note 7 and is reportedly announcing a “voluntary” recall of the product. According to the company, the “voluntary” recall will begin on September 19 in 10 countries.
Samsung announced that there have been 35 cases of defective batteries worldwide and that Galaxy Note 7 devices that have been sold will be voluntarily replaced.
The official announcement was made today, during a press conference in Seoul, South Korea.
It should be mentioned that the company, with the strange term "voluntary" recall, is trying not to assume all the responsibility that falls to it.
Normally, if the percentage of devices experiencing battery problems is higher than expected and it becomes an issue, the company would have to replace all devices that have been sold, regardless of whether the battery works or not.
Of course, such a measure will have significant implications for the company and for consumers, considering that Samsung has already sold 1 million devices worldwide.
