MonoCMS is a website content management system, just like WordPress, Blogger, Joomla, etc.
The difference between Monocms and the above is that it belongs to the category of non-database systems. Data processing is done with PHP and their storage in XML.
Thus, it uses the server's file system to store data, which makes it extremely simple, small in size, and very fast.
Its capabilities may seem limited, but its speed and ease of use will soon make you feel that it is a very powerful tool that users can use to create and maintain their website or blog.
MonoCMS also in Greek…
MonoCMS is made by a Greek web developer who lives in Athens (Panagiotis or Pano z), and so at the same time as the English version, it also acquired a Greek version.
The first compound of the system's name itself comes from the Greek word "mono".
Today, as Panagiotis (project developer) informed us, the new version 2.4 was released.
Monocms 2.4 includes:
Post categories and tags.
Monocms 2.4 supports the creation of a separate category of posts. You can now create categories and define which post will belong to them.
Adding tags is also available on the new post creation page.
Additional changes:
– The post creation page now includes the ability to select a category and add tags.
– Information on the posts page includes category, post author, post type, last edited.
– The “show tags” option has been added to the settings.
– The “Default HTML editor” option has been removed from the settings.
– Additional changes to the dashboard appearance.
Corrections
Fixed the inability to create and delete a new user account and the display of an error message on the account management page.
Minimum requirements
PHP >= 5.5 on an Apache server.
We tried Panos' MonoCMS and found it quite fast, and minimal, something we particularly appreciate here at iGuRu.gr.
