One of the most important events of the year for many mobile phone users is the announcement of Android N, which is expected to be released in the coming months. As a first step, Google released the Android N Developer Preview a while ago.
Today, Google took another important step that brings the release of the final version of Android N even closer. The second developer preview of the new operating system is available for download.
According to Google, Android N Developer Preview 2 brings several important new features aimed at regular users and developers.
Those who have one of the compatible Nexus devices for the Android N Developer Preview can try out the new operating system. In this version, Google has added Vulkan, the new 3D rendering API.
With Vulkan you will notice a reduction in CPU usage and Google promises very impressive benchmarks.
Additionally, the company confirmed that Android N Developer Preview 2 brings launcher shortcuts, so that apps can now specify which shortcuts users want to run in the launcher, which will help perform actions faster.
The new version also introduces the new updated Unicode 9 Emoji. The new emoji design in the version moves closer to a more “human design.”
Last but not least, the API changes included in the update, as Google continues to add and refine great features, such as support for multi-windows, notifications, and more.
