Kaspersky Lab's protection "becomes" wearable: Smartwatch management capabilities for the new Kaspersky Internet Security for Android.
Kaspersky Lab presents the new version of Kaspersky Internet Security for Android, which, in addition to improved performance and top-notch protection, also features the option to manage protection via Android Wear devices.
In 2015 alone, Kaspersky Lab recorded 17 million attacks from malicious mobile software. These included programs designed for surveillance, extortion, money theft, and other criminal activities.
Kaspersky Internet Security for Android provides protection against such threats. To make the solution even more user-friendly and accessible, Kaspersky Lab has released an updated version, which includes control capabilities via Android Wear smartwatches.
The user’s smartwatch can now display notifications from Kaspersky Internet Security for Android, installed on a smartphone or tablet connected to the watch. This feature could include, for example, notifications about a threat detected on the device. Through the watch, the user can also give remote commands to the product by pressing buttons on the screen or using voice commands. These commands can trigger an audible alarm to find a lost phone, scan for malware, and update antivirus databases.
In addition, the new version of the security solution is now compatible with Android 6.0 software, to provide effective protection against electronic threats to even more Android device owners.
“Statistics show that Android continues to be the second most frequently attacked platform after Microsoft Windows. That is why Android device owners are strongly advised to use security solutions. At the same time, the Internet of Things is a rapidly growing trend and is attracting more and more users. This means that security solution providers must make it possible for their customers to use IoT in conjunction with their protection solutions,” commented Alexey Chirkov, Product Manager at Kaspersky Lab.
The new Kaspersky Internet Security for Android solution is now available via Google Play, on the Kaspersky Lab website, and as part of the Kaspersky Internet Security – Multi-Device and Kaspersky Total Security – Multi-Device solutions. In 2015, Kaspersky Lab won the Top Developer award from Google for its innovative approach and high-quality products.
In addition to protection against malware and websites, the solution includes tools for remotely controlling a device in case it is lost or stolen, filtering unwanted calls and messages, and hiding personal data from prying eyes. The product can also be managed remotely via the My Kaspersky, which – for example – allows you to activate the Anti-Theft function, enable or disable the Privacy Protection function, or update antivirus databases.
