Shortly after announcing the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in late February, Samsung said it expected these smartphones to sell much better than its previous devices.
Some of us didn't think it would be possible, because the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge haven't added any innovative features to the device, aside from the camera.
However, it seems that Samsung's estimate was quite good, as the South Korean company has just announced that the number of pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is much higher than ever before.
According to Samsung, between February 21 and March 10, pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge were 2.5 times more than any previous Galaxy S since the series was launched.
Additionally, in the first two days after launch, the UK's largest retailer reported a 200% increase in pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge compared to last year's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
The company also confirmed that its customers prefer the Galaxy S7 edge more than the flat model. The curved S7 accounts for 61% of pre-orders, while the regular model accounts for 39%.
As for us, the South Korean company can say whatever it wants about its devices. We are not buying the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.
