The Huawei Consumer Business Group announced on December 22, 2015 that it surpassed 100 million smartphone shipments worldwide in 2015, cementing its position among the top 3 Android device companies internationally. “Huawei’s success is no coincidence. The results demonstrate the strong interest of consumers around the world in our products. We are extremely proud of this,” said Kevin Ho, President, Huawei Consumer Business Group Handset product line. “The smartphone landscape is constantly changing as people seek devices that allow them to push the boundaries. We look forward to continued growth in 2016 as we expand our product portfolio and strengthen our presence through partnerships with strong global brands to deliver the best devices on the market.”

In 2015, Huawei recorded an increase of about 30% in mid-to-high-end smartphone shipments, which included the following:

  • In September, 4 million Huawei P8 smartphones, 7.5 million Huawei P7 smartphones and 6.5 million Huawei Mate smartphones were shipped
  • The launch of the Huawei Mate S smartphone, which was released in 48 countries across Asia and Europe.
  • The production of the Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone in partnership with Google, which achieved great success in North America.
  • The launch of the Mate 8 smartphone, in November in China.

This success is the result of Huawei's extensive work in the Research and Development field, its differentiated market-specific presence, the 360° strategy that was followed, and the company's brand loyalty.
