Google search also in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge will be the company's next browser, and it is expected to appear with Windows 10. Microsoft hopes that Windows users will be happy with the new browser, but there was one difficulty... It is known that the Bing search engine is not as popular as the Google search engine.

Until today, the Redmond company could not use Google's search engine in its browser, so the search engine for everyone was necessarily Bing.Microsoft Edge 1

Starting today, however, the browser developers are working to add Google's search engine to Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft Edge uses OpenSearch technology to make more search engines available to its users, but Google did not support the technology until now.

As Jacob Rossi of the Microsoft Edge project reported today in a tweet, Google has started supporting OpenSearch 1.1 for the new Windows 10 browser.

So anyone who uses the default browser in Windows 10 will be able to set Google as their preferred search engine from the settings in the next version (we expect RTM).

Microsoft Edge will come as the default browser in Windows 10, but Internet Explorer will continue to exist as a backup application just in case users encounter some websites that don't load properly with the new browser.

Edge will eventually receive an update that will allow it to support the installation of Chrome extensions, according to the company.
