"An attack by hackers and the dark centers that direct them against Iskra, which resulted in the website going down in the early hours of Saturday," the website's editorial team reported.
According to a statement issued, "this organized attack aims to politically silence ISKR, which is confirmed by the cheap slogans and misleading illustrations that the commissioned provocateurs placed on the website.
»It is no coincidence that this dirty and provocative attack against Iskra took place after the magnificent NO rallies across Greece, just one day before the referendum and at a time when the website's readership has skyrocketed to unprecedented heights.
"Iskra deeply disturbs the political establishment and those who scheme to undermine the smooth democratic course of the country with the vote and the struggles of the people. The new parastate and the forces of anomaly are not going to achieve their miserable anti-democratic goals.
»We call on the readers of ISKRΑ, the left-wing progressive world and all democrats to support the struggling website and NO on Sunday.
"The cybercrime prosecution services must act quickly to expose and punish in an exemplary manner the dark centers that organized the attack on ISKR" the announcement concludes.
