After Windows 10, no more charges for future updates

Windows 10 will be released this summer. According to the company, computers running Windows 7 or 8 will be able to upgrade at no cost.Windows 10

This offer is only valid for 12 months after the release of Windows 10. If you don't upgrade within that time, you will have to pay for the new operating system at a price that has yet to be revealed by the company.

However, there are several rumors that indicate that Microsoft is planning to extend this offer and provide free upgrades even after the end of the first year of the operating system's release.

But in a post on the Microsoft Australian Partner Network, the company has officially confirmed that after a year, everyone still running Windows 7 and 8 will have to pay to upgrade to Windows 10.

“Microsoft will offer a free upgrade to Windows 10 for Windows 7, 8, and Windows Phone 8.1 users for the first year. After the first year, upgrades will be charged and the product will be boxed and come with VL Upgrades,” the post states.

Some believe that Windows 10 will only be free during its first year of availability, but Microsoft emphasized that once someone upgrades to this new version, they will be able to continue using the operating system for free for the entire life of the device.

Now regarding upgrades from Windows XP, as we reported yesterday, Russian leaker Wzor claims that users of the old system will be able to obtain Windows 10 for 35 euros, but they will certainly need upgrades to their computer hardware to be able to use the new operating system.
