Kaspersky Internet Security for Android has taken first place in a test of Android security products conducted by independent Chinese company PC Security Labs. According to the test results, Kaspersky Lab's product successfully blocked 99.959% of threats and recorded absolutely no false positives.
The test was conducted on mobile devices running Android (versions 4.x). Malware samples and legitimate applications were recorded on the device’s SD card. The security product under test was then installed on the device and upgraded to its latest version. The scanning function was then enabled in those security solutions that had it or all sample applications were manually installed in those solutions that only supported automatic scanning. During the test, all correct malware and all false positives were recorded. This data was then used to calculate the final result.
In total, 13 products from various vendors participated in the test. Kaspersky Internet Security for Android detected 2,434 malicious samples out of 2,435 used and did not prevent the installation of legitimate applications. The next closest competitor correctly detected 2,422 malicious applications (12 fewer) and showed 2 false positives. This Kaspersky Lab 0.693 points more than the second-ranked product, earning a total of 99.959 out of 100 points.

The results of PC Security Labs tests once again show that Kaspersky Internet Security for Android is capable of ensuring the maximum level of security and does not bother the user with false positives that disrupt the operation of secure applications,” said Timur Biyachuyev, Anti-Malware Research Director at Kaspersky Lab.

According to a recent study on mobile digital threats conducted by Kaspersky Lab and Interpol, users of Kaspersky Lab’s Android security solutions faced more than 3,400,000 threats in one year. 59% of these attacks could steal money from users. The statistics clearly show that it is now crucial to have reliable tools that ensure Android devices are secure.
