The Galaxy VR, the virtual reality "spacesuit" developed by Samsung in collaboration with Oculus Rift, a subsidiary of Facebook,
The "diving suit" is compatible exclusively with the Galaxy Note 4, since this particular model of the Korean company is currently the only one with a Super AMOLED screen and a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. Two specifications that, according to Samsung, are necessary to ensure a satisfactory experience.
Thus, the Galaxy VR has a special slot for placing the Note 4. Then, wearing the "suit", the user is "transported" to the "world" of the movie, game or application that is played on the mobile phone, with the image occupying their entire field of vision. In fact, the visual material adapts at any time to the tilt of the head, so that one can "explore" the three-dimensional environment with their gaze from any angle. As a result, the feeling is impressively realistic.
Along with the Gear S smartwatch, the Galaxy Note 4 will be available in Greece from October 22, with its price starting at 849 euros. However, the Galaxy VR will be on the shelves of Greek stores later, and more specifically in the first quarter of next year.
The reason is that, before its release, the online store that Samsung is planning for the Oculus Rift, from which one will be able to "download" applications and movies for the "spacesuit", must first be accessible from our country. This is expected to happen in early 2015, since Greece is among the second "wave" of countries to which the platform will "open".
