New Skype 5.5. In the wake of the release of iOS 8 last week, a slew of apps have been releasing updates for the iPhone and iPad. Today it's Skype's turn, as Microsoft has updated its iPhone app. The update for the iPad hasn't been released yet.
Skype 's iOS 8 optimization brings interactive call and message notifications, and for the first time, they appear on the lock screen. You'll need to enable Skype notifications in your device's Settings. If you miss a call starting today, you'll be able to see it with the caller's name and the time the call was made.
Skype 5.5 for iPhone is available and you can download it from here .
