What would it look like if someone could ping the entire internet? The internet is a vast array of computers and devices networked together that share the same information. But where does all this stuff reside?
Shodan founder John Matherly discovered a photo that shows what it would look like if someone pinged all the devices on the internet. As you can see from the image above, most devices are concentrated in developed countries and metropolitan areas.

Matherly's company Shodan is "the world's first search engine for internet-connected devices." It helps companies determine which of their devices are connected to the internet wherever they are.
Of course, it's hard to say whether Matherly was able to ping all devices on the Internet, but the picture is impressive regardless.
