Windows XP Unofficial SP4; About five months after Microsoft's decision to end support for Windows XP, a developer is preparing to release an unofficial service pack for the ancient but beloved operating system.
Using the title of his project “Unofficial Service Pack 4”, or “ Windows XP Unofficial SP4 ”, Greek developer harkaz began collecting all official updates from Microsoft in September 2013 and compiling them into a single package.
The unofficial SP4, which is available in a third beta version, will soon be released in a final version, according to harkaz (har.kaz94@gmail.com), who said in a post this week: “I have already started working on the SP4 RC build.”
In the description of the Windows XP service-pack 4 project , harkaz states: “Many users – including me – who will not be able to upgrade their old systems to a newer operating system, would like to easily install all the updated versions of Windows with one convenient package. For this reason, I started preparing a Service Pack 4 package.” To all those who use Windows XP and are thinking of passing harkaz’s Unofficial Service Pack 4, it would be good to know that the developer bears no responsibility (as he states) and that this is not an SP from Microsoft . So be careful!
