The Google search engine website experienced problems for a short period of time , as Internet users reported that an error message ("500") appeared when they tried to use it.
However, its mobile version (accessible from mobile devices) and its app and Google Now do not appear to have been affected. The company's other services (Gmail, Calendar, etc.) also remained unaffected.
The phenomenon caused strong reactions on Twitter, with many users reacting humorously, using hashtags such as #Googledown to talk about "the end of the world", others making comments regarding the issue of the "right to be forgotten" and how the company itself seems to have "used" it, and some referring to the possible benefits of "counterparts", such as Microsoft's search engine, Bing, or DuckDuckGo.
