Winocm, known for his previous jailbreaks, posted a video on Twittershowing the first untethered jailbreak of iOS 7.1.1 on an iPhone 4. According to the video's description on YouTube:
Oh yeah, this is iOS 7.1.1 untethered if you didn't notice earlier. (iPhone 4 GSM though, don't want to mess with any other devices that I have. Would work elsewhere… if you put in the effort. ジ)
Yes, this is the untethered jailbreak iOS 7.1.1 if you hadn't noticed. (on an iPhone 4 GSM though, I didn't want to do it with any other device I have. I'll do it elsewhere too... if you contribute to the effort. ジ)
With iOS 8 coming soon, it's unlikely that hackers will release a jailbreak tool for iOS 7.1.1 as they will reveal the security flaw they discovered. However, it's encouraging to know that the jailbreak community is alive and well, and continues to look for exploits that can be used in future jailbreaks.
