During a media event held in San Francisco , Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced the launch of the new Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS).
Microsoft's new suite brings together existing enterprise solutions, such as Intune and Azure Active Directory, under a single roof. This aims to achieve better management of these services, which in turn will allow IT departments of large organizations to manage all of their employees' mobile devices, regardless of the type of operating system used
The Enterprise Mobility Suite will consist of three core components: identity and access management offered by Azure Active Directory Premium, mobile device and application management offered by Windows Intune, and data protection offered by Azure AD Rights Management Services.
During the event, Satya Nadella emphasized the company’s new mobile-first/cloud-first approach, meaningfully noting “a cloud for everyone, on every device.” Within this strategy, the launch of the new EMS service is crucial. “The Enterprise Mobility Suite is perhaps the most strategic piece of development that we want to achieve to support businesses,” Nadella said.
The charge for using the service will be "per user" rather than "per device" and will be available from1st .
In addition to the above and the announcement of Office for iPad, Microsoft also announced the free availability of Office for iPhone and Android devices. The two versions of the office suite for smartphones have already been updated from the app stores of the two operating systems and are available for free.
