The upcoming SXSW Interactive Festival should be very interesting, and that's because Edward Snowden will be speaking at the event on Monday, March 10, 2014.
Of course, given that the event will take place in Austin, Texas, Snowden will not attend for obvious reasons, but will watch the event and will speak via teleconference.
Snowden will discuss the implications of the NSA's spying activities with Christopher Soghoian of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). He will focus on the impact of the NSA's surveillance programs on the tech community and possible technological measures that could be used to protect the world from mass spying.
The Director of the Privacy & Technology Project of the ACLU, Mr. Ben Wizner and Snowden's legal counsel will coordinate the session. It is worth noting that audience members will be able to ask questions.
Those who want to hear what Snowden will say, but cannot attend SXSW 2014, can access it for free via a live stream broadcast by the Texas Tribune. After the event, the talk will be available through the ACLU website.
