Windows 8.1 Update 1 is expected to be released in April and according to rumors, the new product recently reached the RTM version.
Well-known Windows leaker Wzor claims that Windows 8.1 Update 1 RTM was signed on February 26th, which means we could see a public release in early April.

While we don't have any details on what's in this build, Wzor claims that the build string for Windows 8.1 Update 1 RTMis 6.3.9600.17031.WINBLUE_GDR.140221-1952 and it's currently being shipped to OEMs. It's likely that this build will leak very soon.
According to recent reports, Windows 8.1 Update 1 is expected to be released via MSDN later this month or on April 2, in order for developers to have updated computers before the BUILD 2014 conference in San Francisco.
The end user will be able to get the upgrade on April 8th.
