At this year's Mobile World Congress, Mozilla's Firefox OS took on a field filled with devices powered by Android, iOS, and even Blackberry. Today, the company unveiled seven new commercial devices that will be available worldwide, but not in the US.
Mozilla also announced its plans to flood the market with $25 smartphones.
“We are committed to producing an open platform that will work on a wide range of devices,” said Mitchell Baker, president of the Mozilla Foundation, at Mobile World Congress today
Alcatel OneTouch, Huawei, LG, and ZTE are the devices announced with Firefox OS. There is also information that Panasonic will also use Firefox OS for a high-definition Web-TV.
Although Firefox OS phones are largely unknown in the US, they are already released in several countries, such as Hungary, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, and Greece.

The ZTE Open II features a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a 480×320 display, and a 2-megapixel camera, while the ZTE Open C comes with a Snapdragon 200 processor, an 800×480 display, and a 3-megapixel camera.
Alcatel also offers three different OneTouch models , all with dual-core processors: the Alcatel One Touch Fire S , Fire E , and C. The Fires are top-of-the-line devices with 4G LTE, a 4.5-inch display, and an 8-megapixel camera.
Firefox also announced a new reference device that will be available to developers around the world, Firefox OS Flame. It runs on a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8210 Snapdragon CPU, has a 4.5-inch display, quad band with 8GB of memory.
