The Samsung Galaxy S4 successor, the Galaxy S5, will have a fingerprint reader in the Home button, according to confirmed information from SamMobile . The reader that Apple first integrated into its own iPhone 5S will be the method of user identification (unlocking and automatically activating seven other apps) for the top competing Android smartphone from Samsung, when it is unveiled at Samsung UnPacked in Barcelona on February 24, 2014 .
Incidentally, the HTC One Max, HTC's 5.9-inch phablet, also has a fingerprint reader. However, in HTC's case, the reader is not on the front but on the back, under the camera lens.
Like the HTC One Max, the S5's sensor is said to be able to activate smartphone functions/apps with a touch of the (appropriate) finger, and information on SamMobile says that in the case of the S5, these options will be eight.
