Hackers stole personal information of all Puerto Rico doctors

The personal information of all licensed doctors in Puerto Rico has been stolen by cybercriminals.

You might say, “Shut up the news”… And yet, such information is worth a lot of money. Imagine a file with the personal information of all doctors in Greece. Advertisers, drug stores, NHS scammers and a host of others would give a lot to have it.

Regarding the incident in Puerto Rico, according to the Associated Press , the president of the Puertorican College of Physicians & Surgeons , Mr. Eduardo Ibarra, revealed that the FBI and the Puerto Rican Department of Justice have been called in to investigate the matter.

Mr. Ibarra says doctors have been harassed by emails since the organization's systems were breached.

It is uncertain what kind of information has been compromised, but police have revealed that the attackers may have misused identities and credentials to be able to submit fake prescriptions.

We don't know how many doctors have been affected, but DataBreaches.net has found an older article that reveals that there are around 10,000 doctors in Puerto Rico.
