Information has been spotted on a Chinese website regarding the first official Ubuntu phone, and it suggests Meizu as the first hardware partner for Canonical.
According to the website Cnbeta.com, Meizu will come to the international CES 2014 with the first Ubuntu mobile phone, likely using its recent platform, the Meizu MX3.
The images are not of good quality and it is difficult to tell if it is the MX3, but they have a great resemblance. In any case, this news does not yet confirm that Meizu is an official partner for Canonical. It is possible that the Chinese manufacturer will use the new operating system for one of its phones.
Canonical's Mark Shuttleworth announced a while ago that his company has recently signed a deal with its first hardware partner, but he didn't give names.
For something more certain, we will have to wait until the CES 2004 exhibition where we will probably see the official announcement with all the information.
