How much would you really pay to give your phone number to a stranger? A new scam on Facebook promises free mobile phone cards. Of course, there are also those who are cunning and use it to make money. We discovered the scam on Facebook as we mentioned above. What is interesting, however, is the way it is promoted. Some of the thousands of Facebook pages that use a catchy name to collect likes, decided to advertise the scam campaign through Facebook ads.
This particular page has collected over 100,000 likes, but apparently they are not enough and they decided to advertise the scam. The regular URL of the revolutionary game that gives away mobile cards is:
https://www.gr.n-mobile.net/blockio/
However, the Facebook page administrator uses a tinyurl disguised link that contains an identifier that will earn him a profit for each completed participation.
https://www.gr.n-mobile.net/blockio/?id_promo=386&ncode=f8f465eee882f499b4354dc958d58d89
Of course, you won't win any cards. Once the game is over, you'll be asked for your phone number. What do you say you'll give it? If you decide to register your phone number, don't wonder later when they find you and send you messages from 5-digit numbers, etc.
Your personal information is collected and sold to advertising companies and more.
