Samsung will announce its new smartwatch , the Galaxy Gear , on September 4th during the IFA consumer electronics trade show in Berlin.
Lee Young-hee, vice president of Samsung's mobile business, confirmed the date and some details about the device in an interview with the Korea Times.
“We will be unveiling a new device called the Galaxy Gear at our Berlin event on September 4,” Lee said. He added that the Galaxy Gear will not have a flexible display, without explaining exactly what that means. “We are confident that the Gear will add a significant boost to our mobile industry.”
Lee also confirmed the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at IFA, but did not reveal any details about that device.
