Is Snowden a unique case for the NSA?

prism-nsaIt is now obvious that the NSA still has some idea of what Edward Snowden from its classified files.

For this reason the governments of the US and the United Kingdom are scrambling to get their hands on whatever they can from the files that Snowden has shared, encrypted or not, to understand what he has taken and to prepare appropriately for what is coming.

The reason the NSAdoesn't know exactly what Snowden got is because he covered his tracks and erased the activity logs from the system. This allowed him to copy tens of thousands of sensitive documents for months without being detected.

The issue, however, that arises is whether Snowden was in a position to abuse his role and take tens of thousands of file copies into his hands, and how many other NSA employees can do the same?

It is hard to believe that Snowden was a unique case, either being incredibly specialized or having an incredibly privileged position.

If there are people in Snowden's position who  can access all these files and systems without being traced, who can stop them from doing the same to make money, spy on whoever they want, or sell secrets to foreign countries?

It's hard to believe that Snowden was the only person who posed a threat to the  system, and it's very likely that more is going on without the NSA knowing. And those who are careful to cover their tracks have far more dangerous things on their minds than reading emails.
