Mike Schultz was a snocross and motocross racer before losing his left leg in a tragic snocross accident in 2008. However, Mike had an inspiration to improve not only his life but also the lives of others who had the same problem and loved the action of sports.
Below is a video first published by the huffingtonpost, where Schultz describes his story and how the idea of creating a prosthetic limb that would allow him to continue racing was born.
“I use a small Fox shock absorber from a bike that works with compressed air, so I press it with my weight, it compresses but then reopens and pushes me upward,” says Schultz.
The additive tip can lift 556 kilograms and allows 135 degrees of flex. It can be used for: jet ski, mountain bike, motocross, snocross and many other extreme sports.
Schultz recently won his third consecutive gold medal in Adaptive snocross at the Winter X Games.
