Anonymous and the Syrian Electronic Army hit the Turkish Prime Minister's page

Anonymous and our well-known Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) are conducting a very serious cyberattack against the Turkish government following police violence against peaceful protesters.turk_hacker

Anonymous hackers using the Twitter handle @AnonsTurkey and the SEA group hacked the Prime Minister's official website (basbakanlik.gov.tr) and gained access to data from its server.

“The Turkish Gezi Resistance is one of the noblest social uprisings in our recent history. The Turkish people, women, children, youth and women, oppressed by an all-powerful regime, have now awakened for good and fear has changed sides:.. the Turkish people are not afraid of the oppressors. and have realized their power as free people,” Anonymous reported in today’s press release.

Anonymous is said to have obtained email addresses, passwords and phone numbers. However, they have not released all the data. Meanwhile, the Syrian Electronic Army attacked the same website and leaked more than 60 email addresses and passwords.

Hacktivists managed to compromise a number of government websites: kys.rshm.gov.tr, gatab.gov.tr and others.

Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc apologized for the police response to the initial protests. However, Turkish protesters do not appear to accept the government's apology and are continuing to protest.
