How rich would someone be if they had bought Apple stock in 2003 instead of a 17-inch PowerBook G4? [Infographic]

There are certainly many people who have old MacBooks and PowerBooks sitting in a corner of a closet collecting dust after years of use. It's a sad end to a computer that they would have loved and probably spent a lot of money on. But was it worth it?

A question that TNW co-founder Patrick de Laive wanted to answer, who wondered what would have happened if, in 2003, instead of spending $3,299 on a 17-inch PowerBook G4, he had bought Apple stock. The answer is that today he could buy a house with the money he would have earned from the stock, while the PowerBook G4 is worth just $50 on eBay.
