Mac sales have fallen slightly while PC sales have taken a downward turn

The news for Mac fans wasn't particularly good when Apple announced its Q1 financial results for this year.

Thus, it was observed that 3.952 million new Macs were sold compared to 4.017 million in the previous quarter. Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer, however, wanted to give a positive image with his statements, stating that overall Macs recorded a very small decline of 2% when in the market for the same financial quarter PCs recorded and are recording a large decline of around 14% every year.

Despite a slight decline, Apple managed to make a bigger profit compared to the same period last year. With Mac sales in this fiscal quarter, the Cupertino company brought in $5.447 billion, while last year for the same period it had $5.073 billion.

In other words, Apple managed to make a higher profit than last year with lower sales.

Tim Cook also mentioned the fact that this 2% drop is also due to the problems observed on Apple's production line that led to long delivery delays for the new iMacs.
