What is GDG?

The GDG (Google Developer Group) is an effort by Google to bring together all Developers who use Google technologies and APIs on a global level. It is based on volunteerism and the willingness of those participating in these Groups to contribute ideas and knowledge to the spread of knowledge. Anyone can participate as long as they are willing to share knowledge and opinions with others. To date, GDGs exist in 100 countries (with GDG Athens being the hundredth member of this large global community), and their total number amounts to 365 Groups. In the last six months, 1518 events were held around the world by local GDGs. You can find more about the GDG here.
