The Bing Maps mapping service may not be as popular as Google Maps, but it uncovers some very interesting things.
Bing Maps satellite images appear to reveal a secret US drone base in Saudi Arabia, somewhere on the eastern border with the state of Yemen
Gizmodo, which uncovered it, reports that the three hangars are large enough to hide the well-known US Predator and Reaper drones.
Surprisingly, Google Maps does not show such a military base in the area, and satellite images from 2010 show nothing but plain fields.
The drone base is difficult to locate during navigation, as the image we are presenting must be zoomed in several times to reveal it.
A Wired publication citing an anonymous source, but with the title of US officer, confirms that this is indeed a US military base for drones that are supposed to fly towards Yemen when necessary.
