A little after the release of the evasi0n jailbreak earlier this week, Apple released the iOS 6.1.1 beta to registered developers. We expected the release of the new version to fix the exploits that were found in the previous one, however that did not happen. Not yet, at least.
The “timing” of the iOS 6.1.1 release does not seem very random, because it arrived two days after the release of the evasi0n jailbreak and made many believe that Apple managed to fix the exploits within 48 hours. However, according to Pod2g, this is not the case.
“iOS 6.1.1 beta (10B311) did not fix the jailbreak,” Pod2g said on Twitter. “It’s very likely that it will in a future release, but don’t upgrade because evasi0n will not allow you to jailbreak.”
Pod2g is right, so don't get excited yet and don't forget that yesterday's beta release was the first. Surely several more will be released and there is a very high chance that some of them will fix the exploits.
All we can do now is wait and hope. Although the iOS 6.1.1 beta didn't bring anything new, apart from some improvements to the maps of Japan, it would still be good for jailbreakers not to get stuck on iOS 6.1.
