Kaspersky experts have detected a PC malware that comes as an Android app!
The app in question was discovered on Google Play on January 22 and imitates a legitimate clean app.
The photo below shows the original application
and the following is the fake application to cover up the malware
Once installed and executed, the malicious application lists the running processes, restarts them, and then downloads three files that are commonly run on computers (autorun.inf, folder.ico, and an svchosts.exe) to the mobile device's SD card.
Once the smartphone is connected to the computer, the svchost.exe file containing Backdoor.MSIL.Ssucl.a starts executing.
This particular malware is not complex, but it can take control of the microphone to record the victim's conversations. All recordings are encrypted and sent to the attacker.
Furthermore, the malware that remains on the phone continues its action by sending SMS messages charging your account, opening Wi-Fi to send files, opening links, deleting SMS, and more.
