One thief learned this the hard way, having stolen an iPhone from a girl, which was stolen from him and eventually ended up getting both him and the second perpetrator arrested. A strange story that begins something like this:
A girl was walking in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, when a young man ran up to her and grabbed the iPhone 4S she was holding. Why she was holding it in her hands, in a city like New York where it is number one in iPhone thefts, is another matter.
The young man, having stolen the iPhone and now being far away, thought it was a good opportunity to sell it to make some quick money.
He found someone interested in the Flatbush area, but the young man asked if he could hold it for a while to see if Siri worked and if the phone was in good condition. The original thief, without thinking, gave it to him and was shocked when he saw the second thief start running with the iPhone he had just stolen.
The young man immediately ran to the police to report that his iPhone had been stolen, and after a brief description, the police managed to find and arrest the second thief in record time.
And while the police officers believed that the young man was the victim, suddenly the cell phone rings, one of them answers it and hears the girl say that the cell phone he is holding in his hands has just been stolen and that he was looking for it.
Finally, the police came up with a plan to find out who the iPhone really belonged to and arranged to meet the girl. The girl immediately recognized the young thief by his pink shoes and began cursing and accusing him of stealing her device. The thief with the pink shoes played it off, saying that the iPhone was his.
To determine who the owner of the device is, police said that whoever can unlock the iPhone by entering the SIM PIN will keep it. As you can imagine, the girl unlocked it and got her device back, while the thief with the pink shoes got a pair of handcuffs as a gift.
