Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella got a $4,464,000 bonus for achieving all of the company's goals in the last fiscal year. This brings Microsoft's youngest CEO's total earnings during the last fiscal year to $17,692,031, including stock options and other bonuses.
The company's board believes Nadella is worth every cent, given the way Microsoft has operated since he took over. The CEO could be getting even more money than that.
According to a publication by Business Insider, the cuts Satya made, reducing bonuses by 16 percent compared to the previous year, added $18.3 million to Microsoft's revenue for the fiscal year, which reached $91.5 billion.
Satya could have earned more money if Windows 10 had managed to be installed on 1 billion devices, but given the fact that the company has already announced that this goal will not be achieved, the company's CEO can forget about the bonus.
So if you're one of those who was puzzled by the company's unusually aggressive Windows 10 promotion policy lately, now you know the reason, and what's "being played under the table."
It remains to be seen what changes Satya plans for the company's mobile device divisions and the new Windows 10 Mobile.
We've already "heard" about the upcoming Surface Phone.
