Samsung reportedly working on a new version of the Galaxy Grand Prime early last month. Now, it seems that the new smartphone has just received Wi-Fi certification and its name has now been revealed.
The Galaxy Grand Prime+ has been granted Wi-Fi certification, as reported by SamMobile. The smartphone will carry the model number SM-G532F. At the moment, not many details are provided regarding the specifications of the device, but rumors indicate that it will run on a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and will have 1.5GB of RAM.
It will come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and will have a 5-inch display. There are no details about the smartphone's design or even its release date, so we can't say for sure when the device will be announced and available for purchase. It is also unclear in which markets the company will release the smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime+ may actually be available in two variants, a regular model and a dual-SIM model. Both models have received Wi-Fi certification. Furthermore, the smartphone was launched in India last month, which means it just needs to get FCC approval.
The device will be the successor to the Galaxy Grand Prime, which was released almost two years ago, in 2014, and featured a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels and ran a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. Considering that the Galaxy Grand Prime+ is said to have 1.5GB of RAM, it won't be too far behind its predecessor.
The Galaxy Grand Prime came with 8GB of internal memory and a removable 2,600mAh battery. The Galaxy Grand Prime was released in October and was available in multiple colors.
