Microsoft is trying to revamp its mobile phone business and as part of that plan, the company has attempted to significantly reduce the number of devices available on the market, with new information claiming that Redmond could go as low as a pair of headphones in the same series.
Meanwhile, however, photos sourced from Italian website AggiornamenteLumia show that it is the Lumia 850, or Lumia Honjo, as Microsoft itself has referred to the device internally.
The phone adopts the same design language as the Lumia but looks similar to the Lumia 650, a model that was introduced earlier this year and is currently on sale in various markets around the world. The Lumia 650 is often referred to as the most beautiful Windows 10 Mobile device to date.
As for the Lumia 850, the release notes indicate that the device appears to be running an old version of Windows 10 Mobile.
There's not much that can be said about the device based on the photos that have been released, but that's the least important thing at this point, given the fact that Microsoft has already canceled this model, and has no plans to bring it back into production at this time.
Hardware-wise, the Honjo wasn't the most exciting Windows 10 Mobile device, which is probably one of the reasons the company decided to get rid of it even before it launched. The phone was equipped with a 5-inch, 720p display, with a Snapdragon 210 processor, so it was more of a low-end device designed to help gain market share rather than appeal to those looking for a high-end model.
