Instead of having to put your smartphone in your pocket or bag every time you want to take it with you or carry it, Lenovo wants you to be able to simply wrap your smartphones around your wrist! YouTube personality Meghan McCarthy showed off this flexible smartphone during Lenovo's tech conference on Thursday, taking quite the audience to the smartphone display and wearing it around her wrist like a bracelet.
He then proceeded to take a tablet and bend it right in half to show how a tablet can also be used comfortably to make a phone call with the flexible technology. Lenovo SVP and CTO Peter Hortensius told the audience that this technology includes not only the flexible display, but also flexible hardware components, such as motherboards and batteries.
Lenovo hasn't yet announced device names or potential release dates for these new flexible electronics, though Hortensius said McCarthy should be very careful with them as they "cost a little more than the average price of your current phone or tablet."
More information about Lenovo's flexible smartphones and tablets may be revealed later during the conference.
