Ahead of the launch of the OnePlus 3, the Chinese smartphone maker announced that it is giving away 30,000 VR Headsets for free. All you have to do is claim your device and pay the shipping costs.
OnePlus founder Carl Pei took to the OnePlus forum to announce the availability of the OnePlus Loop VR and a "VR shopping experience" for the OnePlus 3. Pei said the Loop VR Headset will offer "a more powerful, immersive, and comfortable experience."
OnePlus is planning to make the OnePlus 3 even more special with a customizable VR headset. The headset, called the OnePlus Loop VR, will be made in partnership with AntVR. As a promotional campaign, OnePlus is giving away the first 30,000 units of the Loop VR headset for free to anyone who is interested in requesting them, including shipping costs!
OnePlus had a similar offer when it launched the OnePlus 2. At the launch, OnePlus had given away 3,0000 units of Google Cardboard for free. Pei said that "the launch of the world's first VR product was fresh for 2015. In 2016, the OnePlus 3 will be the world's first global VR shopping experience."
Pei notes that the upcoming event is inspired by a video and will feature a virtual headquarters in the space, known as The Loop. Additionally, viewers will be able to purchase the phone in a VR experience.
You can get yours by pre-ordering it from OnePlus' page, though it shows it's sold out as of now. If you're in India, you can sign up for the Headset pre-orders, which will take place on June 3 and June 7 at noon, via the Amazon India mobile app.
