The Ministry of Justice is moving forward with installing devices that will allow prisoners to communicate with their loved ones via Skype
As Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos said on a radio station, the work of online communication for prisoners is part of the government's efforts, with meager means, to develop new structures in prisons, which aim to modernize the prison system.
He also said that the integration of prison hospitals into the National Health System is progressing. Mr. Paraskevopoulos stressed that overcrowding in the country's prisons has been reduced, "but not to the desired extent," which is also reflected in living conditions.
