PRESS RELEASE – The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate arrested a 56-year-old Greek national for child pornography, pornographic performances of minors and seduction of children
In addition, a 49-year-old Greek national was identified and charged with child pornography, child pornography and attempted seduction

The Cybercrime Prosecution , within the framework of an ongoing preliminary investigation, identified the involvement of two Greek nationals, aged 56 and 49, in a case involving offenses against a 14-year-old Greek national.
Specifically, the 56-year-old was arrested in the context of the ongoing proceedings and a case was filed against him for child pornography, pornographic performances of minors and seduction of children, while a case was filed against the 49-year-old for child pornography, pornographic performances of minors and attempted seduction.
This was preceded by a complaint from the minor and her father, according to which she, through a profile she has maintained since late December 2015, on a dating website, accepted friend requests from two people who used pseudonyms, while informing them that she was (16) years old.
Then, according to the complaint, in the first case, the 14-year-old was convinced to send nude photos of herself and received nude photos of her interlocutor, who further had sexual intercourse with her during two of their meetings, while she had been informed by her of her real age.
And in the second case, there was an exchange of nude photos, while the minor did not accept the 49-year-old's proposal to meet.
It is noted that in both cases the minor's interlocutors used a mobile phone number for their communication and e-mail for sending the photos.
Immediately, the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate conducted a thorough and in-depth police and digital - online investigation of the evidence and data and identified the owners of the mobile phone numbers in question, in Athens and Viotia.
A team of police officers from the Electronic Crimes Division went yesterday (17-1-2016) to the 56-year-old's home in Attica and conducted a legal search of the digital media he possessed. During the search, two (2) hard drives and one (1) mobile phone, with one (1) memory card, were found and seized.
Furthermore, the on-site inspection identified the 56-year-old's involvement in the alleged acts, and specifically on the mobile phone, the management of the disputed email account was established.
Subsequently, a team of police officers from the Cybercrime Investigation Unit, with the assistance of police officers from the relevant Viotia Police Department, conducted a legal search today (18-01-2016) of the home and digital media owned by the 49-year-old.
Two (2) mobile phones were found and seized in the residence, while one (1) tablet computer .
The on-site inspection identified the involvement of the 49-year-old in the alleged acts. Specifically, the tablet was found to be used to manage the email account in question, as well as the profile on the website.
The seized digital media will be sent to the Criminal Investigations Directorate for further laboratory investigation, while the case files will be submitted to the appropriate authorities.
