JackPair is an original device that is on Kickstarter and is being sold for $89, to reach its goal of 35 thousand and be manufactured.
With JackPair, conversations are encrypted across all smartphones, but for this to work, both participants must have the device.
The device works with all phones as well as with VoIP services, provided the user plugs in the JackPair earphone jack and then pairs it with his phone.
JackPair has a random number displayed (a different one is generated each time) that both parties must see, and it is what confirms that the call is encrypted.
According to the creators, this key-number is generated each time using the Diffie-Hellman-Merkle technique that guarantees the security of the conversation.
If its creators manage to raise the necessary amount, JackPair will be available on the market in December.
