Are you a BlackBerry fan and wondering if your favorite company will continue to produce devices in the coming years?
Well, it's likely we'll find out whether or not the BlackBerry PRIV was successful enough to allow the Canadian company to launch some smartphones in the coming months, on December 18th. The company has just confirmed that it will announce its financial results for Q2 2016, which should also include PRIV sales numbers , on December 18th
There have been many rumors surrounding PRIV sales, but they will die down in less than two weeks from now.
Despite the fact that the smartphone received many positive reviews from customers and the media, the BlackBerry PRIV may not have sold in as large numbers as its fans would like to hope.
If you're hoping for a six-figure series, you might be disappointed
In our previous article about BlackBerry PRIV sales, we emphasized that statistics gathered from the Android Apps Store may indicate a rather bleak future for the Canadian slider. All Android apps exclusively available on the BlackBerry PRIV were rated at 10,000 – 50,000 installs, which raises the question of whether this is the real number of owners actively using their newly acquired devices.
With only 50,000 BlackBerry PRIV devices sold in a month it doesn't seem like a very encouraging sign, which is why we're hoping these numbers are wrong and that the Canadian slider sold hundreds of thousands instead.
Well, we'll know more about PRIV sales in mid-December, when the company is likely to announce how many Android sliders it managed to sell in less than two months.
The PRIV is currently available for purchase in several countries, including Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the United States, and the United Kingdom. However, customers can order the smartphone from anywhere in the world, but will have to pay for shipping and, in some cases, customs fees.
