The Chinese ZUK (which is known to be backed by Lenovo) is now ready to enter the game with the announcement of the Z1, as its proposal seems to combine economy with performance. However, the Z1 was not the only device that this company had in the works, as it seems that its design team is also dreaming of other bolder (and ahead of their time, we would say) devices, such as a prototype smartphone that has a transparent screen!
ZUK's little technological miracle, which of course is unknown if it will ever be released on the market, works without the slightest problem, as in the first photos of it that were released to the public it appears to be wearing a special version of the Android operating system and running certain applications, playing music, displaying photos and making phone calls.
The ZUK Z1 has been officially announced and comes with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, a Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz processor, with Adreno 330 GPU, instead of one of Qualcomm's new 64-bit ones. It has 3GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in memory, a 13 Megapixel camera with a Sony sensor (IMX214) and optical image stabilization.
The Z1's front camera is 8 Megapixel with an OmniVision sensor, it incorporates an impressive 4100mAh battery and runs Android 5.1.1.
Other technical features include a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button, a USB Type-C 3.0 port, a thickness of 8.9 mm and a weight of 175 grams. It is dual-SIM and has 4G LTE connectivity.
It will be available on August 18th in white and gray for $258, but you must have pre-ordered it.
