Toshiba is betting on Windows 10 for its new Satellite C laptops – Its new laptop models incorporate dual microphones with clear voice capture technology and a quick access key on the keyboard, for better use of Cortana
Toshiba has introduced its new Satellite C series of laptops, which includes the Satellite C70-C/C70D-C, with a 17.3-inch display, and the Satellite C55-C/C55D-C (15.6-inch). Available in a variety of configurations, both models are available in white and black.
In addition to their improved appearance, the two new laptops are much thinner than their 2014 counterparts, with the Satellite C70-C/C70D-C being over 20% thinner than its predecessor. According to Toshiba, “the C70-C’s larger screen ensures a more immersive entertainment experience for the user, or a better view at work, making it an ideal desktop option. The 15.6” version is ideal for those who value portability and want to move the laptop around the house or take it with them.”.
All models feature touchpad palm rejection technology, which ignores unintentional palm taps while accepting other finger movements to reduce errors.
The Satellite C series comes pre-installed with Windows 8.1, with Windows 10 available as an upgrade upon release. Designed to take advantage of the core features of Windows 10, the models include hardware and components that promise smooth performance, dual microphones for an enhanced “Cortana” experience, with clear voice capture technology and a keyboard shortcut key.
The artificial intelligence solution developed by Microsoft called "Cortana" allows for user recognition, helping them better organize their daily lives, such as informing about increased traffic on the roads or providing targeted web searching and reminders.
Powered by 5th Generation Intel Core i5 processors or AMD A8-7410 APUs, the Satellite C series delivers enhanced performance for work and play. Additionally, a 2TB HDD or 256GB SSD option is available for the Satellite C55-C and C55D-C. This is the first time that an SSD option has been included in the Satellite C series for Europe, allowing users to benefit from fast boot times and faster overall performance.
Finally, a range of connectivity options offer quick and easy access to all your essential media and files. The laptops in the series feature an HDMI port and three USB ports, one of which includes a Sleep-and-Charge function, for charging external devices while the computer is in standby mode. In addition, a bridge media slot, which supports SD UHS-I cards, allows users to quickly transfer high-resolution videos and photos.
